What it Costs
Around €1,600 per year.
Of this, around 1,000 Euros go to music licenses. We have a multi-national license through ICE Services – a unique project for small streaming stations. Nearly 50 countries, fairly paid. A bit cheaper than GEMA.
But: Sony, BMG, EMI, Universal, and Warner are not included. The Big 5 license through separate agreements. That’s why we have geo-blocking. That’s why the Universal catalog is missing.
The remaining €600 goes to servers, bandwidth, software. Hi-Res FLAC requires proper infrastructure.
Why No Ads?
Because ads ruin the stream. Because you’re here to listen, not to be sold. Because Mother Earth Radio is a sanctuary, not an advertising space.
